William J. Anaya

Partner

Mr. Anaya is a partner in our firm’s Complex Litigation and Commercial Real Estate Transaction groups. Mr. Anaya focuses his practice on environmental administrative issues in complex litigation and transactions. He has substantial experience in civil, administrative, commercial disputes and criminal lawsuits involving environmental law liability and regulatory, permit, and compliance violations. In addition, Mr. Anaya has served on the Loyola University School of Law faculty since 1994, teaching environmental law. Also, Mr. Anaya is a member of the faculty of the John Marshall Law School in the Real Estate LL.M. program, teaching environmental law to graduate students.

Professional Activities and Achievements

Mr. Anaya is licensed in Illinois and Indiana and is a member of various national and state bar associations. In addition, Mr. Anaya is licensed to practice law in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois, Northern District of Indiana, Southern District of Indiana, Eastern District of Wisconsin, Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Publications

Mr. Anaya has written and spoken on a broad range of topics and issues related to environmental and real estate law. He has delivered presentations and conducted seminars for influential organizations, including the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, among others. He also is a frequent writer and lecturer in continuing legal education forums and the legal press.
