David S. Waxman

Mr. Waxman is the chairman of the Litigation Practice Group at Arnstein & Lehr where he has practiced since 1985. He devotes a substantial portion of his time to health care and professional liability litigation and the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. He also has significant experience in other litigation areas, including commercial insurance litigation and coverage matters, and business torts. Mr. Waxman has tried cases in both state and federal courts, including complex mass tort multi-district litigation. He has also served as investigative counsel for clients ranging from the Illinois State Senate to health care providers on issues such as the citing of a nuclear waste facility and the discovery of Medicare abuse.

Professional Activities and Achievements
Mr. Waxman is a member of the American Bar Association and its sections on litigation, and health law. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and has served on the council of its section of health care law, and he is a member of the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Waxman has served as special counsel to the Illinois Senate Executive Committee. He is named an Illinois Leading Lawyer and a Super Lawyer in various Chicago publications.

Speeches and Publications
Mr. Waxman has spoken at hospital grand rounds and other meetings and seminars on various topics, including medical professional liability, medical devices, and products liability. He has also authored articles for publications of various health care providers in the Chicago area.

Community Involvement
Mr. Waxman is an elected member of the local school council for the Edison Regional Gifted Center, one of the top elementary schools in the state of Illinois.  He serves as the vice-chairperson of the local school council.
