Accounting Manager
We are seeking a multi-talented accounting manager with at least five years of accounting/law firm experience.
This position handles the day-to-day administration and operation of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include preparation of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and overseeing the accounts payable operations. This position will perform a variety of administrative, accounting and bookkeeping duties in order to maintain accurate financial records and reports for both internal and external users. Supervision is exercised over a staff of exempt and non-exempt accounting employees.
Specific responsibilities include completion of monthly and annual financial statements, coordinating all of the Firm’s audits, preparation and review of Firm’s tax returns and corresponding schedules, partnership accounting schedules, annual business insurance renewals, and other financial analysis as required.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred, with 5 to ten years of progressive responsible related work experience. Prior supervisory experience is required.
The successful candidate must possess excellent time management skills; be an independent thinker; possess exceptional organizational, technical and administrative skills; and be highly detail-oriented and self-motivated. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in automated accounting systems (law firm accounting software a plus) are required. The successful candidate will have excellent follow-up skills, coupled with the ability to be proactive and demonstrate initiative. Candidates who do not have experience will not be considered.

SQL Database Administrator
We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator. Position is responsible for support and administration of the application support environment including:
Database administration
Maintenance upgrades
Server maintenance and performance
Tuning, writing, maintaining and applying SQL scripts
Data imports/exports
Developing and maintaining operational documentation and procedures
Second-level user support
A successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and three years of recent DBA experience, preferably with legal applications. Must have experience managing multiple MS SQL databases with skills that include database design, scripting, architecture, security, server configuration, performance optimization, backup strategies and capacity management. Advanced knowledge of database administration principles and analysis in a SQL and .Net environment is a must. Familiarity with Rainmaker; CMS; Elite finance applications, Autonomy – Interwoven Filesite, MS and Interwoven DMS clustering technology desired.
Regional Network Administrator – Chicago
We are seeking a network administrator for our Regional Network Administrator, a position based out of our Chicago office.
Regional Network Administrator will provide computer, telecommunications and training support to multiple law firm offices. 5+ years of prior experience required. Law firm experience preferred. MS network Certifications MCSE and Bachelor’s degree in IT preferable. STRONG communication and customer service skills are a must. Experience in a help desk atmosphere is preferred.
Candidates must have experience troubleshooting PC hardware/software, knowledge of Windows 2003, XP and MS Office in a networked environment and the ability to repair computer hardware and related components in addition to excellent communication and customer service skills.
Position provides PC technical support for end users within the organization; sets up and installs new workstations including hardware and software; acts as help desk team member providing technical support to end user issues, including but not limited to software, hardware, network, operating system, peripherals, etc.
Regional Network Administrator provides software and telephone training for all new hires, applies upgrades and updates to maintain user software, maintains server and network equipment and performs upgrades as necessary, and prepares technology needs for meetings and manages all local office telecommunications.
Payroll Coordinator
Position will serve as back-up to the Human Resources Generalist in the capacities of benefits and full-cycle recruiting.
Candidates must have excellent organizational and time management skills, be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines, and have a strong command of compliance issues and employment laws.
Requirements:
- 5+ years Human Resources experience, preferably in a law firm;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with and in a ADP Pay Expert and EZLabor;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in benefits and/or recruiting;
- Solid knowledge of Federal, State and Local labor laws;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
- Able to display a high level of confidentiality and integrity when dealing with employee matters;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel;
- Strong understanding of payroll, recruiting and benefit functions.

Collections Specialist
We are looking looking for an efficient, dependable person with prior experience in an accounting related field preferably accounts receivable or collections in a law firm, as well as a high school degree and some college accounting classes. Related experience will also be considered. Position reports to the Collections Manager, performing all aspects of credit and collections to enhance the Firm’s collection billing cycle while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
Job duties include:
- Providing assistance with incoming calls pertaining to client accounts;
- Researching and resolving payment discrepancies on behalf of the billing attorney and/or our clients;
- Processing and sending monthly Accounts Receivable watch lists for Executive Committee;
- Managing spreadsheet of over payments and duplicate payments with an attempt to resolve within a timely manner;
- Monitoring electronic billing sites to inquire payment status of late invoices and work in conjunction with the Billing Specialist to resolve any billing related issue;
- Assisting with preparation of collection process, copying invoices and other supporting documents; maintain filing and good record keeping;
- Must be reliable and work with minimal supervision;
- Flexible work hours at calendar year end is essential and may require assisting overall Accounting Department where needed.
The ideal candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, in addition to the ability to interact with clients, attorneys and staff in a positive, professional, courteous manner candidate should also have a minimum of 5 years experience. We also need someone who has the ability to work with a diverse group of people and work well in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and organization skills are a must. Computer skills are essential! We need someone with good PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; iManage and Rainmaker a plus.
