Arthur L. Janura is a partner in the firm’s Chicago and Hoffman Estates offices. His practice focuses on litigation and municipal law.

Professional Activities and Achievements
Mr. Janura retired from the bench after serving 23 years as a trial judge for the State of Illinois. During that time he handled both criminal and civil matters including the motion call and jury trial call in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. His judicial experience includes medical malpractice, construction accidents, product liability and asbestos litigation. He has also served as a lawyer in private practice, and has represented a variety of units of local government and companies, including construction and development companies. Mr. Janura served for six years as the chief administrative assistant and counsel to the president of Cook County Board of Commissioners (1975-1981).

Mr. Janura is corporation counsel to the Village of Hoffman Estates and represents a number of other public and private entities.

He is a Court-Certified Mediator in the Chancery Division’s Mediation Program and Court-Annexed Major Case Civil Mediation Program in the Cook County Circuit Court. He is an arbitrator for the Cook County Circuit Court, a member of the Illinois Judges Association, and member and former chairman of the local government committee of the Chicago Bar Association. Mr. Janura has served as chairman of the Bench and Bar Relations Committee, and chairman of the Local Governance Committee of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. He serves as a board member for the Bohemian Lawyers Association, and is an active member of the Home Rule Attorneys Committee of the Illinois Municipal League.

Mr. Janura has also attended and lectured at numerous continuing legal education seminars and conferences offered by the Illinois Judicial Conference, National Judicial Conference, Administrative Office of Illinois Courts, Circuit Court Law Division, and Illinois Municipal League.
