Arnstein & Lehr LLP presented Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects, with the 2011 Woman of Vision Award at its fifth annual luncheon for Chicago women business leaders on July 27. Almost 150 of Chicago’s top female business and professional leaders were in attendance for this year’s event.
The award, sponsored by Arnstein & Lehr’s Diversity Committee, recognizes and honors groundbreaking, inspirational women who have made a difference in the professional world.
“I am honored to be the recipient of Arnstein & Lehr’s Woman of Vision award and would like to thank the firm’s Diversity Committee for hosting this wonderful event which supports, advocates and exemplifies commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace,” Gang said. “I applaud the committee for their efforts and especially thank all of the women who attended the luncheon.”
During the luncheon Brooke Wiseman, YWCA’s Chief Development and Marketing Officer, discussed the importance of eliminating racism and empowering women. The YWCA is the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world. Their programs provide safe places for women and girls, build strong women leaders and advocate for women’s rights and civil rights in Congress.
“Jeanne personifies leadership and vision at the highest levels and was an ideal recipient of this year’s Woman of Vision award,” said Mary Cannon Veed, a partner with Arnstein & Lehr LLP, who presented the award to Gang.” “Like previous award recipients, Jeanne has established herself as a leader in her industry and possesses an outstanding spirit of individual initiative and independent vision. She is also active in her community and is dedicated to the advancement of female professionals in Chicagoland.”
This is the fifth annual Woman of Vision Award Luncheon. Previous honorees include Anne Pramaggiore, president and chief operating officer of ComEd, Marsha Serlin, CEO and founder of United Scrap Metal, Cheryle Jackson, president and CEO of the Chicago Urban League and Dominique Raccah, publisher and CEO of Sourcebooks, Inc.
